Wordful Wed - You'd Better Brush Baby!

Here is Noah sporting his electric tooth brush. He loves this thing and often requests to "brush." Sometimes we even have to bribe him with a toy to get the dang thing out of his mouth.

It was not always this way.

After he got his first tooth in, HH and I had to pry his mouth open to jam the "washcloth" the dr. told us to brush his teeth with. The ped told us that if we started this early, Noah shouldn't mind a bit. Yeah right, we almost lost a finger or two. And I am sure we have hearing loss from all the screaming (mine and his). After this battle, I just gave up and went with what he seemed to want (after much frantic pointing to OUR electric brushes).

Now, I am sure this is totally NOT recommended for a 1 year old and I know there are many dangers (chip tooth, enamel scraping, etc) that come with giving a kid an electric machine he sticks in his mouth. HOWEVER, nothing compares to the trauma of having to get rotted teeth pulled.

Just ask this kid. The video is after his experience getting his teeth pulled and is entitled "Kid Drugged Up After Dentist." His dad took it and then posted it on You Tube. It's freakin hilarious, though I feel a little guilty laughing, cause you do feel sorry for the poor guy...but mostly I just laughed.

Poor little dude (hee, hee). Sounds like my oldest after getting the "silly juice" to relax him before tube surgery.

"Drunk" kiddos - funny. You know what I mean!

So cute. Shiloh has that same toothbrush in green (her favorite color). I know it's not recommended under age three, but it's so much easier to use than a regular brush and she loves it. I figure it's better than not brushing. And I'm always right there with her, so what's the big deal?

We were slackers in not starting early with our DD. But she has a Donkey toothbrush (from Shrek) that she asks for now! And I just let her brush away.

Have a great day!

That was a good laugh. I would have been so mad at my parents if they did that to me.

Oh I had the same problem with my son! It was a nighmare until we got the "tickly" toothbrush. They do make little kid ones (admittedly maybe not for the really youngest children) but I agree with you ... whatever works!!!!

Thanks for visiting my blog! It is much appreciated! And yes... if your blogging addiction reaches 100%, the men in white come to take you away (because your family called them and told them too!)

soooo funny! I say many of those same things every day when I'm not looped up on drugs...

"why is this happening to me?"

"Aurrrrgh!"

"will it be like this forever???"

by the way, you're on my list now. I swear, I thought you always were!!!

I think that video is hilarious, too. I'm evil that way.

At least he's getting his teeth clean. I'd call it the best invention ever!

Hysterical!!! My 3 of 8 acting just about the same way when he was about 5 years old and had to have a similar dose! This kid is so great!

"Is this real life?"

Blessings!

I saw that vido the other day and I laughed sooo hard at that poor kid. My little ones were the same way with those electric tooth brushes. The infatuation will wear off soon!

Hypothetically speaking, lets just say that I have lmao at this vid and have played it like three times, what does that really say about me....hypothetically?

There are some people that actually live like this on weekends. This is a great anti drug commercial.

Okay Rachel...You do not know me, but I love to read your posts. Which leads to me next question, where have you been??? It's been a week and I miss the fun pics and your fun style of writing. Perhaps I am going through a slight withdraw?
