Writing Prompt - 6 Degrees of Marriage

(Ok, I know it's early, but we are having some fantastic napping strikes, so it's now or never!)

Kat's prompt I chose this week was to get someone you love to describe you in 6 words. Immediately I am instant messaging HH at work so I could get this post in before Noah wakes up from his much needed nap, which may have led him to his first adjective of:

  • Anxious - Tell me you share in the feeling that kids yield anxiety. Yes, they bring love and joy and blah blah blah, but they also leave you with thoughts of "Is my kid breathing, tired, hungry, sad, etc?" constantly in the back of your mind. Last night I couldn't sleep because I was worried about Noah being too cold in his room...and we live in California.

  • Sweet - To be this worried all the time, one must either be crazy (which hasn't been clinically diagnosed just yet) or care a lot. I like to think I am sweet because I care a whole bunch about our family.

  • Determined - Dear "To Do List," I heart you.

  • Pesky- Imagine puppies and other mischievous, high energy creatures. I like to poke at HH (generally when he is tired), just to get a grumpy-faced reaction. Sarah C., thank you for teaching me how to give a "pencil sharpener" -Oh, what fun!

  • Challenging- A nice way to say "High Maintenance."

  • Tender- The moments I do calm down, I guess I can be a bit of a snuggle bug. But that is after the laundry is done, the kitchen is clean, Noah is sleeping, etc.

Wow, I sound like a winner. Good thing I snagged him in my college "care-free" days. I don't think this list would work too well in the romance want-ads.

To be fair, I told HH that he was:

  • steady

  • cuddly

  • stubborn

  • sweet

  • smart

  • deliberate

Funny that our first adjectives are opposites. I guess that must be the glue that holds it all together.

If you have glossed over this post in a (phew, this is narcissistically boring!) way, don't worry, I kinda did too. Point is: I am a tireless puppy, always pulling at a leash. I keep us moving forward. He is a rock, wise in so many ways, just don't try to get him to move too quickly. Thank goodness for his stability.

Together, we make a great team!

First, how freaking Bride Magazine is that picture eh?!! You two are just cream cheese cute.. LOVE IT!

I have to say that he even participated knowing you'd blog his reply is tre romantical to me. What a guy!

I find that I build up this fantabulously romantic ideas of how I THINK my hubs should answer things like these. After I get over my feel bads cuz he didn't call me "ravishing" I think I like things like "determined" that is a good thing. And that you two had the heads and tails result to the first word just shows you are meant 2 be.. He "completes" you.. awe how mushy (but great at the same time)! Gotta go, nap time has been over for THREE hours and they are now nipping at my feet and wrestling the keyboard away from me.. NO I NEED MY WOOBIE! GIVE IT BACK.. MOMMY WANTS FRIENDS!! :-)

Yay team!!!

Back in the "oh my god, am I going to be single forever?" days, I posted this on my blog...

Wanted: Boyfriend

* Stalkers, psychos, and losers need not apply

Must have some common sense.
Must not be possessive or jealous. Been there. Done that. Not really my thing.
Must have some form of intelligence. Having a witty personality and a good sense of humor is a plus. Ididots need not apply.
Must have some source of income. I will not be your sugar momma.
Must have own transportation. (...and I don't mean your very own bus route!)
Must be ready for monagamy. I will not be your "mistress," "side dish," "spare tire." Nor will you have a "mistress," "side dish," "spare tire," while you're with me. If I catch anything of that sort, just remember Lorena Bobbit.
Must have friends of your own. Really, you're not going to be the center of my universe. I'm not going to be yours. If I were, I'd have to call you a stalker. Then I'd get scared. Then I'd have to file a restraining order and it would just get messy.
Must be STD free. No "surprises," k?
Must be able to deal with my shit. Everyone's got issues, right?

Responsibilities:
You will entertain me and deal with all my shit (the good and the bad). Sometimes, you may be awaked at strange hours when I'm bored. You may be asked to entertain on demand. I'm quite easily amused and entertained, so that's not really a big deal. I really just need someone to releive me of my boredom.
You will not cause me very much emotional strife. I don't have the time to deal with it, nor do I really want to.
You will provide me with a source of comfort and safety, and be my pillow on occasion. Especially when I want to take naps.
You will make me laugh on occasion. I will make you laugh at me on several occasions. Other times, I will point and laugh at you just for fun.
You will smile and nod at me when I don't make any sense, then pat me on the head just because.
Must be willing to consume huge quantities of food with me because I like to eat... a lot.

To apply... please contact me in some form or another. All applicants will be screened. Some will scare me away. Some will be laughed at (but I won't tell you so your feelings won't get hurt). Others will be completely dismissed as I come to my senses. Don't forget to submit a copy of your resume, vitae, and last income tax form. Just kidding!

Yeah. Sounds good? Okay..... Now hop to it!

I'd have to say, I think i got myself a winner who meets all my criteria. What words he would use to describe me, gives me the shivers. LOL.
