I have to say, the intro referring to women "swooning" made me doubt the scientific validity of this author. Have any of you ever actually swooned? Also, this article makes me think of those pheromone perfumes. Are people actually that primal that the smell of someone makes you want to date them? Seems to be too simple of a reason for choosing a guy.
The plus side is, that if you are a cheating gal (which I totally do NOT promote) you can now say "The pill made me do it!" Guys have always had the lame-ass excuse of "that's just the way we were built." Here's to ladies now having an excuse you can actually refer to on Yahoo news. :P

Please tell me my tax dollars were not used in the research for this article.
This totally cracked me up! Thanks for sharing. And congrats on being featured at SITS!
I love science-y stuff, so this was right up my alley.
Like you, though, I wondered about the study -- especially the part where they said that before starting the pill their subjects showed no preference, which seems to undermine their whole hypothesis.
Congrats on being the featured blogger! You're very funny -- I'll be back!
I do indeed think I swooned this past summer at the Chris Isaak concert I went to. Yep, I swooned.
Wow..
thats different eh..lol
Happy SITS Day! This was too funny!
I have also heard before that most women like the smell of their husbands' skin when it's clean, right out of the shower (before any deodorant, cologne, etc.) and that women who don't like the natural smell usually have crappy sex lives.
Lol, enjoy your SITS day!
Very funny.
I read about this before kind of crazy!
It's amazing what people come up with and call is science these days!
Happy SITS Day!
I have yet to swoon.
I'm waiting for George Clooney to walk by me. Then I'll swoon good enough to win an Academy award.
Too funny....and Happy SITS day!
I guess I would rather my tax dollars be wasted this way than by doing a study that results in one of the following:
"teens have sex because they want to"
"most Americans believe government spending is excessive"
or something similar. =)
It amazes me that there is research being done to find justifiable reasons for infedelity. What will they think of next? Happy SITS day!
That's defiantely something special for sure.
Well, I'm not much of a swooner,on the pill or off. Course, I picked my guy before I started the pill. That must be the key. BG
Congrats on your SITS day. I don't know anything about what the article was saying but I do know this - My 29 yo daughter went on YAZ about a year ago and both my life and her boyfriend's life improved immensely because of it. :)
he is so very cute!
Wow. That's all I can say. Happy SITS day! Thanks for bringing us the news headlines! :)
Swoons are only for shoes that are rediculously on sale.
Happy SITS Day!
Veerrrry Interseting!
Hope you had a wonderful SITS day! And your blog looks very pretty!
Your post are so funny I cant stop reading your blog .Happy SITS Day again!!!
Happy SITS day! Interesting article...
Really?!
I have actually swooned, it was only once though, during college, and I didn't inhale, I swear!
Em
I saw a swoon once, but it floated away.
chuckle
I'm not much of a swooner either. Happy SITS day!
This is why I would never take the pill. Congrats on being featured at SITS!
I love that picture!! I can not believe they research stuff like this stuff!
Yeah, I swooned over a guy. Not a proud moment for me.
oh, the studies they do...how on earth do they get funding for stuff like this, is what i want to know.
Sdcience can prove anything you want it to. Forgive me for being skeptical!
Swoon? Who, me?
Some scientist was either bored or out to find out just why his girlfriend married a different, uglier guy than himself?
Weird.
GREAT picture of your little guy!
Don't think I've ever swooned, although am quite guilty of liking the way men smell :)
Happy SITS!
"I have also heard before that most women like the smell of their husbands' skin when it's clean, right out of the shower "
I've heard that too Karen!
Quite the uhh interesting research study! I wonder what my husband would think of it. LOL
lol wow that's interesting! I am definitely attracted to someone based on their smell sometimes, but there is a big difference between being attracted and wanting them to be your mate! lol At least you gave the cheating ladies out there a valid excuse!
So, if you're not on the pill, then what's the excuse?!
A scientific excuse yes, but it's still a lame one! I agree with the first comment on this post "Elizabeth M Thompson said...
Please tell me my tax dollars were not used in the research for this article."
And btw, I LOVE your blog layout!
Just popping over from your feature on SITS today!

Oh dear, like the world needs anymore excuses?
FUNNY STUFF.
Happy SITS DAY!!!
Is it wrong that I agree with some of that? Not as an article to trying to justify infidelity, but I do believe there's merit in the idea that the pill can mess with areas like that. After all, it's screwing with our hormones to begin with! It worries me a bit =/
Happy Tuesday!
What a silly article! Thanks for sharing! Also, happy SITS day!
Way funny!! Enjoy your day!!
Hmmm, I might agree with the article too. I know they have said for years that your ovulation can affect the guys you are attracted to...just another reason for me to hate birth control.
Hmmm, can we blame the pill for picking the right guy? :)
haha, just read it!uh so many flaws to this. left a comment that it looks like a way to market us a "MHC stability pill". what suckers they try to make of us.....probably a study performed by a pharmaceutical rep claiming to have the next "cure-all"!
Never swooned really, but I did break into a full on sweat while watching Edward on the big screen!
Cute picture!
The pill made me do it! Priceless :) I have heard about the smell thing to, I think it's true!
Yeah so I agree with Jeanne, that does seem like quite the contradiction...
but interesting nevertheless! Nice blog!
Ooo, I think I'm swooning now! Thank goodness I have a condition that prevents me from being able to take the pill--I know the swooning is real!
Hmmm...no swooning here.
Too funny!
HaHa to funny! congrats on being featured at SITS! sorry i'm a day late!
Thanks for the giggle....and ummm no...never swooned here. LOL
Everyone needs an excuse these day!
Hilarious pic!!!!!
I LOVE that picture. So super cute!
Good to know.
Wow man. That could explain a lot... just kidding!
Interesting. If only that were something I could keep in my back pocket, but ... cheating just doesn't do it for me. On the other hand, if twenty years from now I discover (and I won't) that my husband is a cad -- I'll know it was the pill that forced me to choose him! ;)
