TGIF

O miraculous weekend!
O glass of Chardonnay!
Wrapped up like a hair around a pinkie toe,
I cling to your salvation.

Keep me afloat as I drown in last weeks laundry.
Refresh

(Hold up, my son is eating a Sharpie....)

Refresh me with your cool calmness
Bathe me in

(Son screaming from play yard)

O Chardonnay!
Every sip a minute closer until Daddy gets home.

So funny! When Taylor was Noah's age, I was super hard core. Mikes hard lemonades all the way. If it was open before Jimmy got home, then he really knew it was a bad day! ;-) Just know it could be worse. You could be 8 months pregnant. ha ha!

Please write one about a margarita:) too.

Very funny!

Oh my, you are bringing back memories of how I used to wait at the door for my husband to get home, hand him the baby and go straight to the bath with a glass of wine.

This is funny and I agree with Laurel. Please write one about a margarita!

Nothing like a good ode to celebrate the day -- and the wine helps, too!

LOL! I'd like to see what you can do with a shot of vodka and haiku. ;o)

You must have been an English teacher or an attentive English student in the past...I was impressed by your ode! Especially the use of the traditional "O" :)

That's hilarious! My mom gave me a wine glass when I had my last child and it had things like "mommy's pacifier", "nurse this", and "I need to wine too" - your poem reminded me of it. Thanks for the laugh.

Well put. The kids, the baby, the mommy all eagerly awaited daddy's arrival each day. And all the poor guy wanted to do was put his feet up for a few minutes before the REAL work began!

That is perhaps the best poem ever! Ok, maybe that's a tad bit of an exaggeration, but I loved it just the same. Do you think you could do one for the Martini? You know like Ode to a Martini or Martini, Why Are Thou So Fabulous? Or maybe even I Wish I Was an Olive in a Martini...it could be done to the turn of Oscar Mayer Weiners! (Did I spell that right?)

this is the best poem I have ever read.

Hee, funny :) I'm not much of a wine drinker, but am currently addicted to wine slush. In fact, I just posted a recipe today for it :)

Very funny. I highly recommend washable crayola markers instead of Sharpies.
